Leave the leaves to us…

Preparing your yard for the winter is just as important as getting it ready in spring. Let our trained crews come to you and prepare your property for the winter so that you can have the lawn your neighbour will wish they had in the summer.

Excessive leaf matter on your lawn going into winter is bad for several reasons.  First, it will smother the grass and if not removed very soon in the spring it will inhibit growth.  Second, it can promote the snow mold diseases.  And finally, turf damage from critters (voles, mice) can be more extensive in the spring.

Evestrough cleaning: One of the top reasons to clean your gutters is to prevent water damage, a leading cause of structural damage. Gutters are intended to channel water off the roof and away from your home and its foundation. Another reason why you should consider cleaning your gutters is to eliminate the leaves, twigs, and any other debris that serves as nesting and breeding places for pests like rats, mice, insects and birds. Basement flooding is one of the problems caused by blocked gutters. This is because clogged gutters overflow and spill rainwater around your basement. In turn, the spilled water may easily find its way into your basement where it causes flooding.

Aeration: Lawn aeration can improve the overall health of your grass to provide the root zone with greater access to air, water, and fertilizer. This access to air, water, and nutrients improves the health of the turf, resulting in deeper and more extensive turf grass roots. Compacted soil can prevent air, water, and fertilizer from reaching your lawn’s root system, causing dead spots, patches and/or thinning.  By removing cores in the aeration process, soil density is decreased, thus relieving compaction.

Fertilization: Lawn fertilization helps to prevent soil runoff. In addition to this, it will replenish the nutrients, ensuring that your lawn is healthy and lush. Thus, using fertilizers is a great lawn care solution. A healthy lawn that is well fertilized is more resistant to damage from pests. Even healthy soils can naturally develop nutrient deficiencies over time, causing your lawn to look tired and dull. In order to keep your yard looking great, your lawn needs water, sunshine, and nutrients to thrive. Fertilizer can be an effective way to re-introduce lost nutrients back into your soil and make your lawn look fantastic again.
